Job Description:
I.M. Systems Group, Inc., IMSG, (www.imsg.com), is a
science-based company providing professional scientific and
technical support to the Federal government. The company is
soliciting a highly qualified Program Manager (full time) to
oversee the day-to-day operations and management of contracts. This
position will also contribute to IMSG's other business needs. This
position is located in NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in
Greenbelt, MD. Remote work will be accommodated, per applicable
NASA office policies. - Our ideal candidate will have a scientific
background, understand science and scientists, and have proven
ability in managing a significant team consisting of research
scientists, programmer analysts, and other developers supporting a
science-focused organization. The individual must have excellent
management communication skills and be able to work well with
scientists, managers, IT professionals, administrative personnel,
and senior executives. - REPONSIBILITIES ( but are not limited to):
--- - - - - - - - - Direct programs and manage employees at
multiple locations primarily in NASA GSFC, as well as telework
employees supporting the contract. - - --- - - - - - - - - Manage
the fulfillment of the contract, including understanding task
requirement, developing WBS, project plans, applying effective
technical and budget tracking approaches, timely identifying and
hiring qualified scientists, programmer analysts, and developers to
support the contract, and supervising the staff performance. --- -
- - - - - - - Serve as central point of communication among
employees, prime government clients, subcontractors, and corporate
office to identify and resolve technical, programmatic, managerial,
and contractual issues, as well as develop and review program
plans, schedules, and assignments. --- - - - - - - - - Assist in
proposal strategies and business development (as applicable). --- -
- - - - - - - Direct the efforts of professional scientific and
technical support staff under the contract, and help sustain a
conducive working environment for science-oriented staff to commit
a long term. --- - - - - - - - - Coordinate tasks and review work
products for completeness and adherence to customer standards. ---
- - - - - - - - Work closely with HR, Accounting, and Contracts
Admin to maintain project deadlines and requirements. - -
REQUIRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: --- - - - - - - - - Master's
Degree in Atmospheric Science, Numerical Modeling, Geophysics,
Earth System Sciences, or closely related field; or B.S. with over
15 years of experience combining technical development and program
management. --- - - - - - - - - 6-10 years of program management
experience. --- - - - - - - - - Proven experience managing a staff
of 50 or more scientists and programmer analysts. --- - - - - - - -
- Experience directly supporting a government client both on- and
off-site. --- - - - - - - - - Experience with supporting Federal
agencies such as NOAA, NASA, USGS, FAA, USDA, DOE, DOD, etc. --- -
- - - - - - - Experience with proposal writing is highly desired.
--- - - - - - - - - Knowledgeable in weather and climate numerical
modeling, involving modern global and regional modeling systems,
weather, water, climate, environmental satellites, and related
sciences and datasets, scientific software, modeling framework,
data archiving, system engineering, as well as other technical and
programmatic areas. --- - - - - - - - - Knowledgeable in engaging
scientific data-users and communicating with scientific
communities. --- - - - - - - - - Familiarity with federal
government contracting, task performance, and task management is
highly desired. --- - - - - - - - - Skillful in using reporting and
analytical tools such as MS production suite, Google Sheet,
SmartSheet, or similar, to clearly communicate ideas, processes,
outcome, as well as risks and mitigation. - - --- - - - - - - - -
An outgoing and friendly personality with strong interpersonal
skills. --- - - - - - - - - Excellent communications, public
speaking, and presentation skills. --- - - - - - - - - PMP
certification is preferred. - Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or
