employees. The FNIH seeks a Legal Operations Associate to join and
support its legal team. This role will be key in implementing and
maintaining the legal team's policies and processes to support the
day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the team. The ideal
candidate must be client service-focused and detail-oriented. Work
will be conducted under the supervision of the Assistant General
Counsel and in close collaboration with the Legal Operations
Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage the processing of a high volume of agreements and other
requests for legal support, from initial intake through
execution.
- Maintain the organization, storage, and retrieval of all fully
executed agreements, including data entry into FNIH's contract
management system, Agiloft.
- Maintain and update legal team processes, procedures, and forms
to enhance team efficiency, effectiveness, and service. Collaborate
with legal team members to find opportunities for improvement.
- Train new employees on legal team processes and collaborate
with other teams to ensure smooth implementation of new
processes.
- Triage requests for legal support and communicate effectively
with internal clients regarding process and timelines.
- Organize and manage knowledge resources and legal team files to
maximize accessibility and utility.
- Develop proficiency in the FNIH's technology systems; assist
with the implementation and management of new systems and
software.
- Support the legal team with other initiatives and projects to
ensure timely completion, by organizing and scheduling meetings,
tracking progress, and executing deliverables where applicable.
Communicate any issues that may interfere with progress or affect
timelines.
- Provide other day-to-day operational and administrative support
for the legal team.
- Perform additional duties as requested. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- B.A. or B.S. required.
- 2-3 years of professional work experience required.
- High level of initiative and resourcefulness, with a proactive
approach to recognizing needs and anticipating issues.
- Exemplary team player with sound judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal
skills, including discretion and tact; ability to communicate
concisely and clearly with a variety of audiences.
- Responsive and committed to providing positive client
service.
- Exceptional attention to detail and well organized.
- Technology-savvy: highly skilled in all Microsoft Office
applications; experience with e-signature platforms (such as
DocuSign); familiarity with contract management and/or project
management software systems (such as Smartsheet) a plus.
- Ability to prioritize, work efficiently, complete tasks on
time, and show adaptability as workloads and priorities fluctuate
in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in the mission of the NIH and the FNIH.
