Job Description:

Are you a financial professional that is interested in playing a key role as a trusted member of a dynamic senior leadership team? As Controller you will lead all day-to-day activities and supervise team members including functional responsibilities over accounting, financial reporting, and payroll. You will work closely with the leadership team and the CFO in proposal pricing, financial presentations, strategy, and compliance. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all accounting functions, monthly entries, payroll review and processing, recording of all transactions, posting, monthly closing, balancing of accounts, and maintenance of the General and subsidiary ledgers in the Unanet accounting system.Ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Contracting vehicle Compliance (GSA, etc.), Federal Acquisition (FAR) regulations, and other regulatory requirements - especially those governing federal procurement. Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules and analyses, and prepare or review invoices for clients.Report results of operations as part of a comprehensive reporting package to senior management. Identify and report on trends, risks, issues, and other items necessary to provide a complete assessment of the company's financial position. Track cash flow, A/R, and A/P, monitor debt levels, and compliance with bank debt covenants.Calculate and track indirect cost rates in compliance with federal cost accounting standards.Work with Finance and Operations colleagues to develop the Annual Operating Budget.Comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings and coordinate with External Auditors and Tax Preparers on the same. Must demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and commitment to achieving results.Works under the direct supervision of the CFO.QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, Master's degree in business preferredCertified Public Accountant preferredFive or more years of experience with Federal government accounting experience preferredPublic Accounting Firm experience preferredPrevious experience as a Controller requiredThree or more years of supervisory experienceExcellent leadership and human relations skillsSkilled in financial and accounting, budget and resource development, and strategic planningPossess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the corporate missionFlexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systemsAdvanced ability to manipulate and present data using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
