A 1099 contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This role supports effective communication by facilitating clear and accurate interpretation between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educational professionals through virtual platforms. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality sign language interpretation for telehealth sessions, ensuring accurate and timely communication. Collaborate with educators, therapists, and healthcare providers to support student needs. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards during all interactions. Adapt interpretation methods as needed to fit remote learning and telehealth environments. Document and report on session activities as required by contract specifications. Location: Silver Spring, MD Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience interpreting in educational and telehealth settings. Strong understanding of telecommunication technology and remote interpretation protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently under a 1099 contract arrangement. Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly desirable.
