MedStar Health, a leader in comprehensive healthcare in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Power Plant Engineer III within our Engineering and Maintenance Department. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our energy systems that support vital healthcare services. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in overseeing our facility’s power generation systems, ensuring optimal performance, and aligning with sustainable energy practices. Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the power generation and distribution facilities. Implement energy management strategies to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all hospital departments. Conduct regular system inspections and audits for compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Lead and execute projects focused on improving energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Coordinate with other engineering and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in real-time. Prepare and review technical documentation, including system designs, project proposals, and maintenance schedules. Strong technical knowledge of power generation systems, including steam, gas, and electrical power. Proficient in energy management systems and sustainable energy practices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong leadership skills and experience in team management. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Certification in Energy Management (CEM) is advantageous.
