Description
Are you passionate about fielding and testing systems designed to
protect our nation's critical space infrastructure and enable our
warfighting capability?If so, we are looking for someone like you
to join our team!You would join the Space Control Systems Group
(SAP) of the Space Exploration Sector (SES) and lead the Space
Development Agency's Tranche 1 transport (TL) and tracking layer
(TK) test program. The transport layer will provide assured,
resilient, low-latency military data and communication connectivity
worldwide and to a full range of warfighter platforms. SDA's
tracking layer will provide global indications, warning, tracking
and targeting of advanced missile threats, including hypersonic
missile systems.The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics
Laboratory (JHU / APL), a national leader in scientific research
and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington,
DC, is seeking a Lead Test and Evaluation Engineer to help SDA
integrate, test, and characterize complex space systems in support
of the United States Space Force and warfighters.As the Lead Space
Test and Evaluation engineer, your tasks and responsibilities will
include:
Developing and executing test
strategies for complex space systems, both on the ground and in
space;Recruit and coordinate staff to execute the objectives
contained in the statement of work;Lead and participate in
multi-organizational teams across DoD and the IC;Characterize the
expected vs realized performance of space systems through modeling
and simulation and analysis of data;Communicate effectively to
various USG sponsors in order to gather information, relay results
of task activities, enable synergistic execution of tasks, and to
propose/develop new lines of effort;Understand the various
warfighter uses of the SDA T1 system.As a member of our team,
you'll help APL make critical contributions to a broad scope of
physics, software, engineering, and systems integration problems.

Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
Possess a BS in engineering, physical
sciences, computer science, mathematics or a related
field;Demonstrate working knowledge of acquisition processes and
operational test; requirements associated with rapid prototyping
and acquisition including DoD 5000.89; 1+ years of experience with
test and evaluation of US Space Force systems;5+ years of
experience with test and evaluation of platform, weapons, or
targeting;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Can
demonstrate versatility and ability to tackle diverse problems from
inception through completion with minimal supervision;Willing and
able to travel across the country and internationally when
needed;Are able to obtain an interim Top Secret security clearance
by your start date and ultimatley a Top Secret with SCI. If
selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance
investigation and must meet the requirements for access to
classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S.
citizenship.You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if
you have at least one of the following...
Have a MS or PhD in engineering,
physical sciences, or mathematics; Possess working knowledge of
SDA's T1 Transport and tracking layer and planned space and ground
support systems;APDP Level III Test and Evaluation;Are currently
TS//SCI cleared, and have or have had SAP clearances;Demonstrated
understanding of physics or mathematical simulation and problem
solving to the areas of space flight dynamics, spacecraft design
and sensor systems;Demonstrated testing of satellite communication
systems, position/navigation/timing systems, and/or space based
