Description:The Senior Manager for Global Research Engagement (GRE)
team is responsible for leading the Corporate Engineering and
Technology Organization, University, Federal Laboratory, SBIR and
International S&T Engagement portfolios. The Global Research
Engagement team works in a "Team of Teams" manner with leaders
across the organization and with external customers and partners.
They are responsible for harmonizing the University Research,
Federal Laboratory, International S&T, and SBIR engagement with
corporate technology and business area strategies and applied
portfolios. The Senior Manager for GRE will collaborate with
colleagues to define far horizon technology roadmaps and facilitate
early TRL maturation and value build up by sponsoring research
efforts with Academia and in collaboration with Government
Laboratory partners. Additionally, the Senior Manager for GRE will
manage Program Managers leading Horizon 2 and Horizon 3 portfolios
of internal and extramural research in high impact areas of
interest to Lockheed Martin.
These portfolios within GRE include working with Government and US
/ International Academic partners to maximize benefit to Lockheed
Martin through sponsored research including technology transfer and
increased probability of win (Pwin) for major Acquisition programs.
Additionally, the GRE team is responsible for developing programs
and research agreements with major US Universities to increase
knowledge transfer in focused areas, and to increase recruiting
capabilities for targeted skills. While primarily engaging the DOD
Laboratories for both intramural and extramural opportunities, the
GRE team uses Collaborative Research and Development Agreements
(CRADAs) and other instruments to foster collaboration and shape
customer's future sponsorship (both Customer Research and
Development (CRAD) and Program of Record (POR)). Finally, the GRE
is responsible for leading Lockheed Martin SBIR customer engagement
and coordination across the Business Areas.
The Senior Manager for Global Research Engagement is part of a team
that reports to the Director of Global Research and Innovation.
Global Research and Innovation reports into the Vice President of
Research and Technology under the Corporate Technology Office
within Corporate Engineering, Technology and Operations
--- Demonstrated experience in technology project and program
management, to include cost/schedule/performance metrics and
tracking and technology road mapping, required.
--- Experience managing diverse technical teams.
--- The applicant must demonstrate a history of collaboration and
working with US based and International customers and suppliers, to
include US Government sponsoring agencies, academia and small
--- Demonstrated success in leading technical and functional
professionals, across disciplines, to develop effective
--- Demonstrated success in developing International S&T
programs including Research Agreement Terms and Conditions
--- Demonstrated success energizing teams, openly collaborating,
and enabling their best performance.
--- Capable of representing Lockheed Martin with professionalism in
external settings with senior executives from US & International
industry, academia, and governments.
--- The selected candidate will be a member of a high-performing
virtual team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic,
time-management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to Work Remotely: This is a full-time telecommuter position
which offers the flexibility to work away from a Lockheed Martin
facility, usually a home office, with reliable telecommunications
access. Selected candidates may work from a local Lockheed Martin
facility if mutually agreed to with the leader. Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that
provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range
from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may
be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with
additional time away from the office and are in addition to our
Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day,
