MLT has created a thriving network of more than 8,000 rising leaders and is fundamentally transforming the diverse talent pipelines at its partner organizations, including more than 100 leading corporations, nonprofits, and graduate business schools. MLT recently launched and is committed to rapidly scaling a first-of-its-kind Black Equity at Work Certification, which establishes a clear and comprehensive Black equity standard for employers, a concrete roadmap and support to achieve it, as well as recognition to enable and inspire lasting change. MLT Black Equity at Work is an innovative new business unit within MLT that provides an opportunity to work at a world-changing, fast-paced start-up within a respected and established national non-profit organization. MLT is seeking an experienced Digital Director of Product, to own and oversee the product lifecycle for MLT's proprietary online services. The Director of Product will work closely with internal and external stakeholders for each product to understand requirements, develop and execute on product roadmaps, and gather and monitor product feedback. S/he will also work closely with the external design and development teams to deliver the products such that they satisfy requirements and feedback. While MLT does not have an internal software development team, we do work closely with external design and development teams to build out platforms that are critical to our mission which includes both custom and off-the-shelf education, training, coaching, and community offerings. The successful candidate will have a passion for MLT's growing mission, an inherent love of developing user-driven products, and experience working with cross-functional, internal and external teams. This position will be based in MLT's Bethesda, MD headquarters and reports to MLT's Senior Director of Technology and Applications. In this role you will:

  • Serve as the Product Manager for the Black Equity at Work service offering, a new initiative launched in November 2020 to establish a certification framework for diversity and inclusion best practices across employers. Specific activities include requirements gathering and prioritization, product roadmap development, product marketing strategy, assessing market competition/similar products, and product feedback collection and monitoring (40%)
  • Work closely with the Product Manager for the MLTx platform, an online portal intended to support scaling and online delivery of MLT's core competencies (coaching, community, and playbooks). Currently, the MLTx user base consists solely of MLT alumni but may be extended to include current Fellows, staff, and external stakeholders within the next year. Specific activities include product roadmap development, requirements gathering, and product feedback monitoring (40%)
  • Champion a product-focused approach across the organization. While MLT does not desire to become a product or tech-focused company, this role will need to instill some core aspects of product thinking and design across the organization (20%) You should have:
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management, including requirements gathering, product marketing strategy, product roadmap development, and product delivery
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong project management and interpersonal skills
    • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders and effectively communicating between them.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate well in written and oral settings, understand business objectives and translate them into technology solutions
    • Ability to work independently, multitask, and maintain keen attention to detail
