Our Newest Opportunity: Summary: The Director of Sales for Virginia is primarily responsible for leading the state-wide sales efforts and team to meet or exceed established sales goals and objectives. The Director works both independently and with local leadership teams to develop the strategic sales plan and initiatives that promote a culture of growth through leadership, collaboration, accountability, and guidance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): * Collaborate with market leadership team to develop growth plans and set annual sales goals for market and individual team members * Ensure individual sales goals are met or exceeded * Communicate sales goals, progress, and updates to all team members throughout market * Responsible for accurately forecasting sales opportunities on a regular basis * Actively coach and mentor team members to develop sales behaviors and skills * Mentor and guide sales colleagues through coaching, attending new business meetings, and strategizing next steps to advance the sale * Lead accountability meetings with team to review activity, progress, top opportunities, and network development * Review market trends and develop/implement strategy to capitalize on key market opportunities * Demonstrate an advanced understanding of our market, our competitors, and other economic indicators to steer our business development team with forward-thinking vision * Analyze all sales metrics (wins, losses, markets, verticals, etc.) and adjust for continuous improvement * Ensure accurate reporting on lead generation and sales efforts, including utilization of data and metrics to provide detailed information about pipeline status * Manage sales pipeline and sales activities via company database (D365) * Identify key industry verticals and work with marketing team to develop/execute marketing campaigns * Collaborate with local and national marketing teams to develop branding strategy including COI's, key networking events and functions, speaking engagements, and driving participant attendance at events * Maintain responsibility for an individual production goal by identifying, prospecting, and closing new business via referrals, networking sources, and organic prospect meetings - leading team by example * Actively recruit and onboard new business development talent within market Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: * Proven record of sales achievement as both an individual contributor and team leader * Proven experience and clear ability to influence colleagues with both direct and indirect reporting relationships * Excellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills * Skilled at asking open-ended questions and active listening * Networking - internal and external - has and can build a network of relationships * Strong Center of Influences (COIs) that partner to grow business * Ability to effectively handle multiple and changing business, colleague, and market priorities and deadlines * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment * Ability to effectively analyze data, recognize analytical patterns, and effectively communicate insights and actions derived from the data * 50% of time is spent outside of the office engaged in mentoring, coaching, networking, and business development activities Education, Training and Experience: * 10+ years of proven sales leadership experience, required * 5+ years sales experience in employee benefits, insurance, retirement advisory, brokerage, or related field, preferred * Knowledge of group health, retirement, ancillary and benefits administration products, preferred * Bachelor's degree, required * Proficient in all Microsoft Office products Other: Virginia Life & Health license required (within 6 months of hire) Thank you for your interest in joining the OneDigital team!
