University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Center for Information
Technology Services, is seeking a Functional Manager of Student
Enterprise Applications. This role manages complex projects
involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, requiring an
in-depth understanding of application functionality, configuration,
integrations, processes, and data flow. The manager oversees
applications such as Banner, Self-Service Banner, Degree Works, CRM
Recruit, Blackboard, Mediasite, and AppWorx. Collaboration with
technical teams and leadership is essential to ensure quality

- Oversee ERP applications and evaluate campus requirements
against solutions.
- Manage team members to meet project goals.
- Document and resolve application issues.
- Lead implementation and support of enterprise-wide
applications.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to troubleshoot and
design solutions.
- Act as liaison between end users and technical teams.
- Ensure functional documentation is current.
- Manage testing strategies using modern tools.
- Review and recommend policies to ensure high-quality
information systems.
- Manage projects, budgets, schedules, and communication.
- Supervise staff to align with departmental and campus
goals.
- Provide assessment, training, and advisement to campus
representatives.
- Monitor and improve ongoing functional programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems
Administration, Engineering, Education Administration, Business,
Finance, or Human Resources.
- At least five years of experience with ERP software (e.g.,
Banner, PeopleSoft/Oracle) or similar enterprise applications,
including software analysis and development.Preferred:
- Extensive experience with Ellucian Banner modules, Self-Service
Banner, Degree Works, CRM Recruit, Ethos, and/or Intelligent
Learning Platforms.
- Experience with Blackboard, Mediasite, AppWorx, or comparable
LMS and lecture-capturing tools.
- Understanding of the student lifecycle in higher
education.Supervisory Experience: At least one year of supervising
staff, with prior managerial experience preferred.Skills and
AbilitiesStrong knowledge of relevant systems and regulations,
excellent communication skills, ability to support strategic goals,
and proficiency in training, change management, and fostering
collaborative relationships. Commitment to UMB's core values of
