Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Data Analyst II to support the Department of Medicine located at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the Department of Medicine. US citizenship is required. The Data Analyst will provide analytic support to epidemiologists, biostatisticians and scientists. They will ensures data quality and data integrity. NOTE: As a U.S. Government contractor, all HJF employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Proof of vaccination or an approved religious or medical accommodation will be required. Responsibilities: Imports, cleans, transforms, validates and/or model data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making and public health purposes. (40%) Assists in making data accessible to epidemiologists, scientists, physicians, programmers and other end users. (20%) Tests data to identify data integrity issues, making recommendations and coordinating with the data manager to plan solutions. (10%) Troubleshoots problems concerning database records and communicate with co-workers and end users of the system. Makes recommendations and coordinates with the data manager to plan solutions. (10%) Recommends operating methods to improve processing, distribution, data flow, collection and database editing procedures. (10%) Participates in data-related projects, including but not limited to data normalization, data maintenance, data research, data standardization, data product development, and data quality assurance. (10%) May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have strong SAS, Excel and MS SQL skills. General knowledge of SPSS, and/or STATA software. Ability to investigate data issues and participate in remediation activities. Statistical and data analysis skills are a must to assist gathering and solving data quality issues. Ability to review detailed documents to validate data in operating systems. Experience in writing requirements. Excel MACROS experience is a plus. Familiarity with IDC9 and IDC1O coding. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Information or related field is required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant work experience required. Work Environment: Set in an office work environment. Situational telework may be implemented. Work Arrangement: Telework a few days a week. Background/Security: U.S. citizenship required; eligible to obtain and maintain a Tier III Investigation/ Secret Clearance.
