Join the HJF Team!HJF is seeking a Study Coordinator to support the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) located at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to CHAMP.The Study Coordinator will support the Operation Live Well (OLW) Research and Evaluation (R&E) in the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP), in the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Responsible for assisting the Project Manager in establishing and maintaining the research and evaluation components of this DoD strategic health, wellness and well-being effort. They will play a major role in day-to-day operations of one or more projects and is integrally involved in development and implementation of research and evaluation protocols. This position requires a strong research background and strong organizational skills; experience with program evaluation methodology preferred.NOTE: As a U.S. Government contractor, all HJF employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Proof of vaccination or an approved religious or medical accommodation will be required.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and carry out research projects, including the collection, organization and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data; exercise technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of research projects; review and edit data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information; establishes and maintains databases for research projects. (30%)
  • Evaluate and synthesize scientific literature; prepare scientific abstracts, manuscripts, proposals and reports for publication and presentation. (20%)
  • Maintain study records and prepare and submit study-related documentation. (15%)
  • Travels to clinical field sites to collect and record data and/or samples as appropriate to the specific objectives of the projects. (10%)
  • Recruit and screen potential subjects for and enroll eligible subjects in research studies; reviews and maintains logs for ongoing clinical studies and other research projects tracking participant activity, and scheduling of visits. (10%)
  • Conducts and records face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with participants, in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures, and documentation standards. (10%)
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. (5%)Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experiential knowledge of the research process and a variety of research and evaluation methodologies; knowledge of sound research and evaluation practices, and regulatory compliance; prior experience as a project manager/coordinator; excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to analyze issues and use sound judgment to problem-solve; ability to work independently; ability to interact with high level personnel and convey clear messages; ability to work with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues; knowledge of office automation; ability to work independently; ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet timelines and deadlines; must be fastidiously organized, very flexible and able to work under limited supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, independently; excellent computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Military research, basic statistical analyses, and database management desired.Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, science, or health promotion required. Master's degree preferred.Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of experience required.Work Arrangement: 100% remote.Background/Security: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust.Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, addresses, education, and credentials, a criminal background check, drug screening, and a department of motor vehicle (DMV) check.
