Matrix Providers is potentially hiring a Registered Nurse (RN)
Wound Care to join our team of talented professionals who provide
health care services to our Military Service Members and their
families in Bethesda, Maryland.
Employment Status: Full time
Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
Schedule: Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00AM-7:30PM,
40 hours per week.

Requirements: The Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care must have and
meet the following:
Degree: BSN or higher.
Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by
Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider
(BLS-HCP), Current Certification in Wound and Ostomy Care
Nursing.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as an RN and current
certification in Wound and Ostomy Care (WOCN preferred).
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to
practice as a Registered Nurse.
Job Summary:
Provide expert consultation and/or hands-on care for individual
patients with acute or chronic wounds including venous, arterial,
and diabetic wounds, pressure ulcers, traumatic and draining
wounds, surgical incisions, and tubes and fistulas, as well as any
skin breakdown that requires additional Intervention. Establish and
coordinate multidisciplinary comprehensive wound management plans,
including reducing causative factors, controlling odor, assessing
nutritional needs, and providing and applying topical therapies.
Develop and implement education programs for patients, staff, and
other healthcare providers. Coordinate quality improvement
initiatives to optimize skin and wound outcome. Advocate for the
patients with skin and wound care needs and for the professional
Practice. Develops and coordinate organizational wide programs for
prevention and management of skin breakdown. Develops, facilitates
and coordinates a cost effective ostomy and wound care program.
Develops Protocols & Practice Standards for managing patients with
wound, ostomy1 and pressure ulcer prevention needs. Monitor patient
outcomes on an ongoing basis. Participates in Multi-disciplinary
patient centered case conferences, as appropriate. Maintains data
and statistical reports as requested. Participates in wound care
related Root Cause Analysis as needed. Once provided with
"hands-on" experience, demonstrate working knowledge and use of
computerized systems, including Composite Health Care System
(CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Applicant
(AHLTA), ESSENTRIS, MHS Genesis.
Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of
healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal
outcomes in clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice by all
established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the
Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Perform physical exams and health histories.
Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized
interventions.
Direct and supervise the care provided by other healthcare
professionals.
Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope
of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in
emergencies.
Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to
inform the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education
to benefit the patient/family and organization.
Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as
appropriate.
Perform nursing services as identified in the official Task
Order.
Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient
outcomes.
