Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Support cardiac surgery patients recovering post-ICU within a specialized cardiovascular stepdown/telemetry unit. This contract opportunity requires a knowledgeable RN skilled in cardiac tele/stepdown care, including management of chest tubes and dysrhythmias. The position offers a 13-week duration with an ASAP start, aligned with training schedules for EPIC clinical documentation. Location: Situated in Manassas, VA, this role positions you within a vibrant community known for its rich Civil War history, charming downtown, and access to outdoor activities. The area boasts excellent local amenities, diverse dining options, and convenient transportation connections to major metropolitan regions. Schedule: Nights 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) Every other weekend Qualifications: Active Virginia or Compact RN License at time of application Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Minimum of 2 years RN experience Proven expertise in cardiac tele/stepdown nursing with chest tube management and dysrhythmia care Experience with cardiovascular surgery stepdown (CVSD) patients and telemetry monitoring Required Training: Completion of EPIC clinical documentation training appropriate to your recent EPIC experience, either an accelerated or two-day course Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to postoperative cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiovascular status, responding promptly to dysrhythmias Care for patients with chest tubes and other post-surgical cardiac devices Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Additional Information: Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 March 31), with approved exemptions subject to agency verification Possible COVID-19 considerations in place This contract offers an excellent opportunity to apply specialized cardiac nursing skills in a focused stepdown setting.
