Job Responsibilities:
Quality Improvement Team Leaders (QITLs) are national leaders in
high-reliability, quality improvement methodology, and
interdisciplinary activities to end preventable harm, to
continuously improve patient outcomes and experience, and to
eliminate waste in health care. The QTLs at Suburban Hospital
anticipate risk, foster, and support performance improvement change
from several different focus areas. These focus domains may include
patient safety, quality of care, hospital ranking/reputation,
performance-based reimbursement, regulatory, accreditation and
licensure, and medical staff quality. Each incumbent may have a
role and responsibilities among these domains.
Responsibility and activities would engage hospital leadership,
frontline, quality improvement staff, clinical leaders, physicians,
essential services, workforce teams. The incumbent works to achieve
success in strategic priority areas and other areas of opportunity
as identified or assigned. QITLS are qualified to cross cover each
other and assume other special projects and tasks as needed. QTLs
represent the QI department, report to the Directors reporting to
the Senior Director Quality, Safety, and Improvement.
Required:
Master's Degree required in the fields of Nursing, Public Health,
Health Policy, Business Administration, Health Administration,
Physical Sciences, Technology related to quality engineering or
business process improvement.
Prefer:
Licensure in Nursing or other clinical fields. Performance
improvement, or project management certification and experience
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current Maryland licensure or certification in the area of clinical
practice. Clinical employees are required to have a current license
in the State of Maryland in the areas of clinical expertise they
hold (e.g., a Registered Nurse (RN), Pharmacist, or a Physician
Assistant (PA)), Nurse Practitioner (NP)).
Required Healthcare certification must complete a related
accreditation within one year of hire and then maintain the
certificate, as needed. May include any of the following: Certified
Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional
in Patient Safety (CPPS), or Certified Joint Commission
Professional (CJCP).
Five (5) years of experience applying the skills described above is
required. At least three (3) years of this experience (preferably
in healthcare originations) must involve the application of
scientific quality improvement methods in the workplace,
specifically:3-5 years
