About the RoleAs the Director of Engineering, you will lead several mobile teams in designing and delivering new and enhanced product features. You will manage development efforts from initial design through testing/deployment while providing strategic direction to the entire department.You will also be expected to:Direct and oversee software engineering activities in the development, release, and maintenance of mobile applicationsManage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and provide leadership for multiple development teamsRecruit, manage, train and mentor development staffWork with cross-functional teams to develop business and user requirementsParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decisionsMove your teams toward the goals of higher autonomy, automation, and CI/CDAbout YouEntrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated ability to achieve goals in an innovative, fast-paced environmentAt least 5 years in a technical leadership role, and 10+ years developing production SaaS code for mission critical services, and 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and leading an engineering team delivering iOS, Android apps and SDKs.Ability to drive a culture of quality, personal accountability, and strong relationships with internal and external colleagues and clientsExpert in Agile / DevOps principles and practices including automated testing, TDD, CI/CD, and incremental design & architecture.Familiarity with the following technologies: iOS, Android, Swift, node.js, Java, Kotlin, JSON, Firebase, AWS/Cloud infrastructureBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and/or EngineeringPreferred SkillsHands-on development of enterprise-level software productsExperience with large connected devices and distributed systemsHiring and team buildingIncremental design/refactoringStory-driven project/program managementLeading multiple SW development teamsAbout UsBrivo is the global leader in mobile, cloud-based access control for commercial real estate, multifamily residential, and large distributed enterprises.
