Responsibilities: Design and implement VMware vSphere virtualization solutions, focusing on server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery. Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware components. Monitor virtual infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization. Provision, deploy, and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots. Implement and maintain security measures for virtualized environments, including access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation. Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Qualifications Active Secret clearance. 7 years of relevant experience. Requires presence on-site five days per week in Annapolis Junction, MD. Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required. Proven experience as a VMware Engineer or similar role, with expertise in designing and managing VMware vSphere environments. Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere features and capabilities, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, vMotion, HA, DRS, and vSAN. Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies for virtualized environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The annual salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $110,000.00. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
