Broad-Based Compensation & Performance Management Director Apply Now Job ID: 538466BR Date posted: Sep. 01, 2020 City: Bethesda State: Maryland Description: This position is responsible for the company’s Broad-Based Compensation and Performance Management programs, which entails the design, implementation and administration of base salary structures, short and long-term incentive plans, and recognition & reward programs for all Lockheed Martin employees below the executive level. This role will also oversee our performance management process, which supports a feedback culture and its implications on year-end compensation planning.

This position also represents Broad-Based Compensation to other corporate organizations including Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Government Finance. It is based in the corporate office in Bethesda, MD, and reports to the Vice President of Compensation and Performance Management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Development and implementation of broad-based compensation plans aligned with the organization's strategies and objectives

• Overseeing the annual market rate determination process including survey participation, updates to job taxonomy and rate structures, and ensuring that the company maintains a competitive posture in a challenging labor market.

• Preparing for and leading the annual salary planning process

• Managing and continuously improving the company’s recognition and reward programs

• Leading and overseeing performance management processes through the new Atlas Perform platform

• Ensuring that all policies and practices are consistent with the organization's business/people strategies and compliant with government regulations

• Managing relationships with suppliers of relevant systems and data

• Partnering with business area compensation staff to provide consultation to HR senior leadership on professional compensation matters

• Partnering with internal IT staff and external providers in the design, development, and deployment of the common systems and processes used to support enterprise-wide compensation programs

• Providing thought leadership, mentoring and guidance to the extended team

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or other relevant discipline

• At least 10 years of progressive Compensation experience with extensive knowledge of professional and hourly compensation practices

• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and legislative factors impacting compensation & rewards programs including the FLSA, Service Contract Act, and Davis-Bacon Act

• At least 5 years of people-leadership experience

• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, influencing, relationship building and presentation skills, particularly with executive leadership and senior management

• Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to develop and maintain cross-functional and external relationships

• Demonstrated experience building strong team and client relationships

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including advanced Excel use

• Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills

• Demonstrated track record of success in relevant positions

Desired Skills:

• Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, or other relevant discipline

• Professional certification such as CCP, GRP, and/or SPHR

• Experience in an HR Business Partner role and knowledge of multiple HR functions

• Experience with PeopleSoft, MarketPay, and Tableau

• Labor Relations knowledge including the analysis and implementation of the compensation elements of collective bargaining agreements

• Experience leading multiple virtual project teams through complex change programs

• Corporate-level and consulting compensation experience

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
