Job Description:

We seek an experienced Controller (8+ year’s experience in public or corporate accounting). Candidates should possess a high degree of technical competency and the ability to work equally independently and as part of a team. A successful candidate will have proven leadership experience, confidence and decisiveness. Problem solvers, self-starters and highly organized individuals will flourish in this position. This position will include general accounting oversight for Vault Consulting, will be part of the Greater Leadership Team and manage the Operations Manager.

A brief summary of what you will be doing for Vault Consulting.

  • Provide day-to-day management and leadership of finance and accounting functions
  • Responsible for execution of the month end close and reporting process, including presentation to Executives of Vault
  • Coordinate the annual budget process by working with all appropriate Vaulters to collect revenue and expense information
  • Own monthly comparison reporting for business unit invoicing vs. forecast, provide updated reporting to Executive Team in a timely manner including high-level variance analysis and observations (Planning Maestro, Excel)
  • Work with Executive Team on benchmarking comparison reporting to firms in our marketplace
  • Assist in creating reports and presentations for the Executive Team surrounding presentation of Vault financial information
  • Manage relationship with our IT Vendor – Dataprise and stay current on the overall status of Vault’s IT environment
  • Provide reporting as needed to our Tax Partner – Citrin Cooperman – to ensure timely and accurate estimate and return reporting for our ownership group.
  • Manage relationship with our business insurance providers, including timely renewal information and follow up and coordination of signatures/acceptance and payment
  • Manage banking relationship with Eagle Bank in coordination with the CEO
  • Document and update accounting policies and procedures manual
  • Assist with contract management related to vendors and contractors

  • You come with a long/strong track record of not only technical accounting expertise but strong leadership and strategic oversight (think Controller or CFO level).

What we need and need you to bring to the table:

  • A seasoned professional with a blend 8+ years of experience in public accounting, auditing, corporate or non-profit accounting roles
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
  • Accounting experience or knowledge of the not-for-profit industry preferred
  • Passion and commitment to providing excellent and stewardship 
  • Experience being the head of an Accounting department and/or strong strategic leadership
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
