IT Program Manager, Healthcare Software - 100% Remote

Job Description:

The Program Manager role within the Project Management Office (PMO) plays a critical role in leading programs with strong focus on strategy, implementation, cross-project and department alignment, overseeing successful delivery of implementations for clients and internal projects. The Program Manager is responsible for establishing and leading strategic initiatives from inception to completion. The Program Manager will lead a cross-functional team and oversee a variety of large-scale, client facing IT deployments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead and direct one or more large-scale, complex programs often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrixed partners
  2. Be the single accountable party for strategizing, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given program or initiative
  3. Drive and support multiple workstreams to ensure program goals are reached
  4. Ensure program end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefits
  5. Effectively manage and consult with clients on engagements, balancing directive with collaborative communication to ensure products and services meet contractual requirements
  6. Oversee and manage 3rd party vendors as needed
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders, including external clients, on different aspects of assigned initiatives
  8. Facilitate and drive working sessions with clients and stakeholders to plan initiatives, elicit requirements and/or business processes, and guide clients to successful outcomes
  9. Chair recurring core program team, regular client team and periodic stakeholder meetings to review initiative progress with key constituents
  10. Continuously interact and consult with all functions and levels of management ensuring effective ongoing communications across teams and stakeholders
  11. Establish and maintain essential program documentation
  12. Define and track project milestones by creating, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated program plan
  13. Publish regular status reports to ensure the program’s overall direction and integrity
  14. Ensure program adheres to PMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  15. Ensure alignment of key program resources both internally and externally
  16. Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed timeline, cost, and quality parameters
  17. Proactively anticipate and identify risks and issues; developing plans and response strategies to manage risks/issues to maximize benefits and escalating as needed 
  18. Establish and manage program budgets, validate financial forecasts, and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related program expenditures 
  19. Coach, mentor and lead teams to greater efficiency and quality while reducing costs in our business environments
  20. Make day-to-day decisions in concert with corporate strategy and program objectives
  21. Represent initiatives and/or the PMO in various project governance and inter-department forums
  22. Propose recommendations and adjustments to improve project delivery and the PMO department
  23. Effectively manage and prioritize your time to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  24. Travel may be required for project-related client meetings and training (post COVID-19)

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in project/program management on software development and/or IT projects, or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an external client-facing role delivering complex software implementations, IT projects, or management consulting services
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or engineering
  • Preferred experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech or healthcare hub services industries
  • Management consulting experience preferred
  • PMP, CSM, PSM I/II certification(s) preferred

  • Exemplary core knowledge of and expertise in the use of project management methodologies, tools and processes including Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile Framework
  • Strong core project management skills including multiple aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Preferred knowledge: Sound healthcare and technical project delivery acumen
