This Commercial Asset Management Associate position will be responsible for daily oversight and executing on strategies to maximize real estate value through identifying value-add opportunities throughout the National Landing portfolio (approximately 6.0 million square feet). This position is very focused on identifying, designing, and executing value-add capital improvement projects and building repositions. The position will also require regular communication among other groups within the company such as leasing, property management, investments, development and construction. Specific position duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with the team to identify and execute projects that will have the highest impact on retaining and attracting prospective tenants
  • Monitor the marketplace to confirm JBGS Assets have comparable amenities and quality
  • Lead coordination of efforts with architects, construction management, property management, and other stakeholders related to building renovation projects
  • Maintain knowledge of all project agreements and other documentation affecting project.
  • Work closely with construction manager and property management to execute capital improvement projects in the least intrusive and disruptive manner to existing tenants including ensuring proper communication to tenants before and during construction
  • Coordinate with the construction project manager, who would be responsible for overseeing the construction schedule and budget.
  • Review building repositioning underwriting to ensure that they proposed projects have an appropriate yield and return to increase the building valuation. For larger projects, present the scope and budget to investment committee for approval
  • Monitor all assets of property operations and help identify and execute smaller building improvements such as signage, wayfinding, furniture, and artwork
  • Understand the long-term placemaking objective for the submarket and identify opportunities to incorporate that philosophy in to building repositioning projects
  • Review and coordinate with the development team on adjacent projects that impact existing commercial building
  • Network and engage externally to monitor tenant customer service trends and Landlord technology enhancements. Meet and research potential ideas and present ideas that align with our strategic initiatives/value creation objectives when applicable



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience required. Development, architecture, or real estate asset management experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a larger, collaborative team
  • Proven leadership skills needed to manage internal staff and external consultants
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and must demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude
  • Basic knowledge of financing and real estate underwriting methodologies
  • Knowledge of design/construction fundamentals; including the process, budgeting, design, permitting, construction, and project management
  • Must possess attention to detail, confidentiality, integrity, and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Forward thinking and innovative
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to make external and internal presentations and write investment memoranda
  • Proven entrepreneurial skill
