Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a
nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We
serve military, medical, academic and government clients by
administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific
programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians
alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link
between the military medical community and its federal and private
partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow
military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their
scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.This position
will be in support of the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative
Medicine (CNRM), in Bethesda, MD. CNRM supports a wide range of
research from pre-clinical models to investigational projects and
clinical trials research on TBI and its comorbidities.
ResponsibilitiesHJF is seeking a Research Assistant I to perform
research and/or development in collaboration with others for
projects. Works to enroll participants in remote protocols
including recruitment, scheduling, consenting, and data collection.
Solves less complex problems in carrying out research projects in a
remote clinical setting. This is the first of four levels within
the Research Assistant series. It is characterized by somewhat
limited decision making, and receives instruction from more senior
study staff. Responsibilities
Performs research project tasks, including participant screening
and enrollment, as well as the collection and organization of study
data. Follows instructions and standard operating procedures
Performs data entry in accurate, timely, and efficient manner.
Maintains clear and accurate data collection records and
inventories in accordance with Good Clinical and/or Good Laboratory
practices.
Completes remote informed consent for CNRM protocols over telephone
and internet. Creates, collects, disseminates, and maintains
appropriate study documentation including research data and
regulatory documentation
Assists in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and
protocols. Creates and communicates detailed observations on
experiments.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or
directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and
participation in required training for role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques.
Ability to follow detailed instructions.
Good communication and analytical skills.
QualificationsWork Environment This position will take place
primarily in a office setting.Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
