Senior Clinical SAS Programmer

Job Description:


Participates in the design of complex multi-form CRFs and the resulting electronic databases

Leads the efforts for data cleaning, editing, and validation

Implements variable derivation, conducts statistical analyses for the types of studies described above, and produces study output in requested tables and figures using SAS with little or no supervision

Conducts validation and review of SAS programs developed by other programmers in the team.

Generates output data in clinical regulatory formats using CDISC standards, such as STDM and Adam.

Reviews and assists in the development of a protocol or statistical analyses plan with responsibility for planning and design phases of projects.

Independently handles client communication around relevant study analyses as needed. Acts as main point of contact on client calls and present findings when requested.


Education fields: Epidemiology, Health Economics, Biostatistics, or related field

PhD with at least 3 years of relevant work experience; MSc with at least 5 years of relevant work experience

Senior level expert in quantitative methods in the statistical analysis of clinical data using SAS (e.g., SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro)

Knowledge of medical and AE coding and terminology

Experience working with large databases such as Market Scan/Truven, Flatiron/EMR data, or similar is a plus but not required

Advanced knowledge of scientific research methods and practical knowledge of research implementation.

Experience in Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
