Summary:Democracy Forward is a nonprofit legal and policy

cornerstone of democracy.The Program Associate and Special Projects
Associate will support both Civil Service Strong and other
Democracy Forward initiatives that promote good governance and
accountability.Democracy Forward seeks a highly organized, nimble,
and proactive Program Associate and Special Projects Associate to
support the organization's operations, communications, and special
initiatives. This role will provide direct administrative support,
manage special projects, assist in communication efforts, and
support the day-to-day functions of both Civil Service Strong and
other Democracy Forward good government initiatives. The ideal
candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to handle
multiple priorities efficiently.Responsibilities:Administrative &
Operational Support
- Manage calendars and scheduling for the Managing Director and
other leadership staff.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, including agenda
preparation and follow-up.
- Provide logistical support for events, webinars, and key
initiatives.
- Maintain records and organize documentation related to program
operations.Special Projects & Urgent Support
- Assist with high-priority projects across Civil Service Strong
and Democracy Forward's good government initiatives.
- Conduct research and prepare briefing materials to support
leadership and policy initiatives.
- Support cross-functional projects that contribute to Democracy
Forward's impact.Communications & Content Development
- Draft and edit statements, newsletters, fact sheets, and other
communication materials.
- Manage updates and content on the Civil Service Strong website
and Democracy Forward platforms.Community Engagement & Outreach
- Manage the Civil Service Strong inbox, responding to inquiries
in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in organizing and executing outreach efforts to expand
Civil Service Strong's reach and support other good governance
initiatives.Qualifications:We recognize that strong candidates may

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in administrative support,
project management, communications, or nonprofit work.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to
detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in website management and digital communications
tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a
fast-paced environment.
- Passion for public service, good governance, and Democracy
Forward's mission.The salary range for this position is
$75,000-$85,000 plus excellent benefits. Compensation is
