Job Overview

Sensing is designed to inform stakeholders of the outside-in view of risk to identify "unknown unknowns" using traditional and social media analysis, allowing for better-aligned mitigation efforts based on the shifting trends in risk. This position requires a strategic thinker and self-starter that can develop big picture insights while maintaining a thorough understanding of details and employing these skills to protect the firm.

Specifically, the role will assume responsibility for the Regulatory Affairs portfolio of the OSI team, focusing on regulatory issues at the federal and state levels that inform Deloitte's compliance strategy and serve to provide internal stakeholders with critical situational awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the OSI's Regulatory Affairs section, which includes managing the firms' regulatory compliance platform RegTool, interfacing with the firms' Lead Regulatory Liaisons, and assist with ongoing/future integration efforts with other member firms in the Deloitte global network
• Analyze and monitor regulatory issues using leading policy monitoring tools, including traditional mainstream political news sites
• Summarize federal and state regulations on a variety of issues relevant to Deloitte's business lines
• Use domain knowledge of regulatory affairs to identify risks and opportunities for the firm
• In addition to specific regulatory work, analysts will monitor both mainstream and social media outlets to notify Risk Leadership and other internal stakeholders of emerging and ongoing risks that impact Deloitte and/or its clients
• Create historical and real-time sensing alerts utilizing trends and volume in both traditional and social media chatter to develop insights for management with an overall summary of the situation and risks posed to the firm
• Create weekly and monthly dashboard reports for the major issues that the OSI team monitors for circulation to Risk Leadership and the C-Suite
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  
  • Minimum three years of professional experience. Includes experience with regulatory bodies or government organizations at federal, state, or local levels
  • Project management experience and ability to maintain timelines
  • Knowledgeable of major regulatory bodies (SEC, AICPA, PCAOB, etc.) and their role in the accounting/consulting profession
  • Well-informed of both traditional and social media, with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, with an ability to delve into the details to observe trends
  • Able to apply critical thinking in evaluating different business scenarios/outcomes
  • Self-directed team player who is adaptable to changes in a developing role while working in a predominately remote environment
    Preferable skills:
    
    • Experience with regulatory/legislative platforms FiscalNote or Quorum (or related tool)
    • Experience with using social media intelligence platforms (Dataminr, Meltwater, etc.)
    • Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, IBM Cognos, etc.)The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
