Laboratory is operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab
addresses some of the most urgent and intractable problems in the
biomedical sciences in cancer and AIDS, drug development and
first-in-human clinical trials, applications of nanotechnology in
medicine, and rapid response to emerging threats of infectious

Integrity and Versatility; it's the FNL way. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the Frederick
National Laboratory for Cancer Research and the National Cancer
Institute at Frederick provide comprehensive professional EHS
services to employees working in general offices, industrial shops,
experimental research laboratories, and animal care environments.
Work is performed within the offices of the EHS Directorate and on
multiple campuses in various customer locations. Security and
Emergency Services (SES) provides 24/7 security coverage for the
NCI-Frederick campus, the Vaccine Pilot Plant, and the Advanced
Technology Research Facility. KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES This
position is part-time 11:30pm (Friday) – 12:00 noon, Saturday and
Sunday. Perform periodic inspection of grounds and facilities and
document same using established procedures. Control access to
facilities through the use of the access control system. Respond to
scientific alarms and requests for assistance, e.g., building let
in, personal escort, spill response, emergency response, etc.
Maintain a high level of awareness of surroundings for possible
health and safety standards including the monitoring of site
cameras. Monitor systems and activity to include alarms, let in’s,
camera monitoring. Administer the visitor management process.
Monitor the building automation system (BAS) and log issues in a
timely manner per established procedures. Complete log entries for
issues and responses in a timely manner and in compliance with
established procedures. Interact with internal and external
customers and in a customer focus manner. Interact with peers and
colleagues in a professional manner in the completion of daily
tasks and responsibilities. Conduct routine checks of various
equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, AED’s, lights) per established
procedures. Comply with all established SES procedures in the
completion of daily tasks and responsibilities. Adhere to schedule
requirements. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this
position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and
abilities listed below: Possession of a high school diploma.
Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. In addition
to the education requirement, a minimum of two (2) years of
security related experience is required. Ability to interact with
customers in a professional and courteous manner, verbally or in
writing. Ability to walk several miles each shift to complete
inspections of grounds and facilities. Ability to routinely lift
and carry up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, climb stairs, sometimes work
in confined areas, and potential exposure to particulates, vapors,
or noisy environment. Ability to work across multiple shifts as
needed. Ability to attend and complete trainings, e.g., hazardous
waste, CPR/First Aid, security awareness. Familiarity with and
ability to use portable devices such as an iPad, handheld radios.
Ability to complete data entry. This position is considered
safety-sensitive and will be subject to random drug testing per the
Leidos Biomedical Research Drug Free Workplace Program. Ability to
obtain and maintain a security clearance. JOB HAZARDS This position
is subject to working with or has the potential for exposure to
infectious material, requiring medical clearance and immunizations.

posted pay range for this job is a general guideline and not a
guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered

with market data. The salary range posted is a full-time equivalent
salary and will vary depending on scheduled hours for part time
